That nightmare is OP. Nerf that nightmare! Ha ha ha.
...kidding aside...

I find this topic very uncomfortable, as I'm sure most women do. I have no intention of distorting it, and if I ever do, I am VERY sorry for it, and I need to be corrected. However, I will be posting the occasional material that touches on this topic, because unfortunately, it is a huge reality, not only to trans* women, but to a huge number of both women AND men. It is a real thing that happens, and it won't get any better if people don't talk about it.

If it happened to you, be it just a bad situation, or a full on assault, you need to know that it isn't your fault. Nobody 'deserves' this. No matter how much they say you led them on, NOBODY DESERVES THIS.

In the comic, she says 'putting that situation aside' like it was nothing. I don't mean it in a flippant manner, I meant it in a refocusing manner. Dr Bernt was trying to fix a specific issue in a specific context.

But it's so hard to get past those flippant remarks. Maybe we latch onto those kinda comments to avoid the real issues, but then a good part of the issue is the comment. Sorry - prob not making sense there. Not sure I can read anymore of this right now cos it is pretty triggering, but good. Thought I'd put all this behind me but maybe I haven't. Anyway, great work GK xx

@stickygirl: Of course it is hard to get past the flippant remarks when they matter to you. Just the same as a tiny pebble in our shoes hurts more than anyone can see, a tiny remark can be more cutting than anyone can know.

I really appreciate having another person reading Wildflowers, but if it is triggering, you need to stop reading it. Especially the posts that are coming out this month (Apr 2014), because of the above content. It isn't good for you to read something that will only open wounds.

I write about this sort of thing specifically because it is hard to deal with. In it's own way, putting the horrible things of our minds and societies out there makes it something that can be addressed. The same as watching a movie can help us deal with an issue, or reading a book of someone elses's experiences, Wildflowers hopefully lets others work through their own pain.

If you haven't moved past something important, that it fine. You don't HAVE to move past it. But you can't let it control you either. Take the time you need, focus on being good to yourself, and don't apologize to anyone for that.

I may be lousy to talk to sometimes, but if nothing else, I am a person who is available and will do their best to not judge. So if that helps, I am here.

I think I read 200 posts in an hour or so and did feel a bit steam-rollered after!! I only have myself to blame for being compulsive! It's really well written but I'm going on a comic diet for a few days :)))
