Remember, taking advice from people on the internet is stupid. So now, here's my advice!

As I said yesterday, every goth I've met has been awesome. And most of them have at least some level of gender-bending, if not outright genderqueering. If you are young enough to get away with it, going goth is a pretty decent way to go for presenting as more male or more female without it being seen as odd. It would just be like, oh, they are goth, its all good that those guys are wearing platform heels and carrying satchel bags.

Ah Toni, the master of one expression - shock. Bet she didn't realize this was a date. Bet Sophie and Andrea throw down when Sophie finds out. Bet Toni *still* can't figure out why.

In panel 5 of " The Goth Look ", it looks like Toni's hand was crushed in a vise. Maybe just a close-up panel of Toni's fingers would have been better.

One could only hope that Toni had or would become interested in Japanese Gothic / Lolita. Males, or ones perceived as male, who wear female Gothic / Lolita are called " Brolitas ". Males who wear male Gothic / Lolita are called
" Dandys ". Brolitas are now a whole minor subsection of the Gothic / Lolita culture, and you see a few at most large anime conventions these days. Early on, I wore female Gothic / Lolita as a Brolita at anime conventions, because it was one of the few accepted places that a male could wear such obvious female attire without much question or ill comments. But since GreenKrog is or was Goth, then Toni will be Goth, I guess. It's AnneKrog's story, so it is what it is. I respect that principal.

@CuteDress&TwinPonytails: I fixed the hand as best I could. It still doesn't look great, but much less crushed.

Which brings me into the next point - Lolita is really freaking hard to draw. Even if I knew anything about it and wanted to write Toni that way, I wouldn't be able to draw it. The one time I put ribbons and bows it took me an hour to draw and an hour to post-production fix it from looking entirely stupid.

Toni was goth long before I was anyways. I'm nowhere near that goth, I just have midnight blue hair.

And final point, Lolita doesn't exist in Calgary. It really doesn't. To say that the city lacks diversity is a severe understatement. Jeans are practically a uniform. As much flak as Toni is going to get for it just for being goth, could you imagine trying to be Lolita in the north's equivalent of the deep south?

I don't like to think of Toni's story as coming from only one mind - I get inspiration and sometimes direct request from outside sources and I try my best to work them in. It doesn't help that I am neurotically far ahead at this point, but I still do what I can to retcon in appropriate things.

Among the many thousands of things on my " To Do " list---

Draw Toni wearing a typical female Gothic / Lolita outfit
( probably Country Lolita, since that style is one of the easiest to draw ) !

BTW---The hand looks better.

@CuteDress&TwinPonytails: I would absolutely love to see that. I'd also really like to see her as an angel, like you find on Magic the Gathering cards (wearing armour and a weapon, properly proportioned, etc). Like Luminous Angel.

If anyone else wants to draw Toni, I would love to see it! Forward them off, I am excited to post other peoples art!
It isn't just one person contributing!
