Vic - worlds biggest ass hat or worlds biggest pragmatist?

Let me play devil's advocate here. (This argument is stupid, just, bear with it.) Toni did admit that she was attracted physically to Vic. Possibly to other teammates (that is unclear). So Vic banishing Tony from the change room seems perfectly logical *in his head*. I mean, if someone said they enjoyed ogling you and you didn't like it, would you put yourself into a situation where it can happen frequently?
Vic may well just be doing it so the guys on the team, who seem to have expressed a similar thought process, don't have to deal with someone looking at them change.
By the same token, wouldn't women in a change room be put off by some guy ogling them naked?

All of these arguments are valid, but ultimately flawed in execution. Toni is a human being and deserves respect. This is NOT how you treat anyone, ever. If you are THAT worried about it, you do your damn job as team captain and you make arrangements, and you damn well explain it like a civilized human.

..now I'm sorta really angry.

See at that point you just say "Ok, Vic, have fun at finals. I'll be cheering for you and the team" and just walk off.

If he's not respecting you as a human being, then he shouldn't get any help in winning. :P

@Noodlez: Easier said than done. I try to be honest with myself these days, and I am pretty sure that if someone said that to me, I would be too taken aback to actually fight it. At least, not on the spot. I mean, who even says something like that?!

And what about Toni's investment in the sport? She may not be happy with the rest of the team, but she would be punishing herself if she left and watched them lose. Why should she have to be the odd one out?

I guess you're right, but knowing myself I would refuse to swim. That is just mostly due to my "meh" view on sports. I just don't care for them.

Though to be honest, what investment does she have in the team?
- she does not go to school (until January, and even then do the same thing)
- she has made no friends on the team
- she has only been ridiculed by Vic.
- She used to go on the team to wear herself out, she doesn't need that anymore

Bonus! if she even was worried about ridicule say that she injured herself, she is already beat up, so it wouldn't be questioned.

I dont know what I want to do more... hug Toni and say it'll be alright, or slap Vic and yell at him. =/

@Noodlez: That thought actually struck my mind, of what she had invested. And the basic, and truest answer: normalcy. Its *normal* to have people make fun of you. Its *normal* to be on a team and feel important. If you have essentially zero contact with people your age (due to lack of need to be in school), you have a lot of time to stew. Even tutoring, that is still you being in a position of authority - that's not normal for a 15 year old.

I know when I was transitioning, the desire to be normal was huge to me. To be unnoticable, to be just like everyone else. Because it meant to me that I wasn't weird or different. And keep in mind, I am a life long loner, I don't tend to value people's opinions if they are in passing. So to feel that urge deeply enough to actually go out during the day and try to fit in?

...they say write what you know. Of course, most of Toni's life is completely made up, but there are occasionally the little sniggles of memory in there.
Ugh, now I want to throw up remembering what I posted for April 2014.

You'll be able to look back and track your efforts with these comics, see how your mood shifted and see your growth.

And I'll agree with Noodlez... why swim if you're mistreated?

@Pharmg220: Thank you! I really try to help people find somewhere they can work through stuff and not feel alone. I'm incredibly honoured that you are joining us on Toni's journey.

@Smithg277: Sorry for the aafgfabfgegddge, if it was a bad aafgfabfgegddge. And if it is a happy aafgfabfgegddge, well, yay! Though if you mean my actual blog (the journal link at the top), it is definitely a bad aafgfabfgedge, in which case, I would recommend avoiding it - I know it isn't fun to read.
