Did the 'big reveal' feel like a letdown? Good. It was supposed to. It wasn't supposed to be some big THING. Just a change into.. normalcy. Its a person wearing clothes that a person wears. Nothing more. The other full page ones were great personal expression - this isn't. It is just a girl, wearing clothes. Utterly normal clothes.

And yet, now, her world is in colour. For the first time, in colour.

(Also, I learned shading this last week, and I am going back and fixing each day as it comes up, any time she is in colour. So it is a lot harder to retrofix stuff that wasn't designed for it. So it might look a little jenky for the next, oh, 8 months, but I'm trying.
Also, yes, she is the light source in the bottom left frame. And she has an angelic halo in the big reveal, so the light is behind her. Yup.)
---

Ok, so, about frame 1? Yeah, that's basically how I felt. On the one hand, its the one thing you CAN wear while still in the closet and nobody would know. But then again, you are wearing clothes associated directly with sexuality and little else. There was, at least for me, a great conflict of 'what are you, a transvestite?' for wearing underwear not of my sex, and the personal comforting knowledge that it was one step closer to who I was supposed to be. It can be an extremely difficult hurdle to cross.

I love the transition to colour, it is reminiscent of Judy Garland in that movie she did. What was it now, Meet me in St. Louis? A Star is Born? Bah, anyways, you know the one. Very well done.

Annie's clothing and fashion style, that of nice and feminine, but somewhat ordinary, speaks volumes of what Annie is trying to protray and look like. The facial expression on Annie's face speaks volumes of what Annie is trying to think about and respond ! We are just beginning to see Annie as her correct self, dressed in a plain day-to-day outfit, instead of seeing Tony/Toni dressed in a costume, or dressed in a fetish outfit.
( This can be one of the hardest parts of a T-girl's transition. That is, giving up the costume, teen valley girl, and fetish styles, in favour of plain, ordinary but still nice and cute day-to-day wear and fashion. )

BTW---Annie's face in panel 1 is too wide. However, I love the colour effect to show the outstanding fashion transformation that is taking place !

@Rainbows: Hi Rainbows! Thanks for joining us on Annie's journey!

I actually don't know the movie you mean :( But I usually think of Pleasantville, with some people being in B&W and others in colour depending on how personally liberated they are.

@Cutedress&TwinPonyttails: You are right, her face is really messed up in the frame. I tried to fix it yesterday but I can't seem to get it down. I will try a bit more later today.

You missed one important point - Annie didn't actually pick out those clothes, Sophie did. So in this instance, her transformation into normalcy was actually from her girlfriend.

I know that Annie's fashion style was not of her own origin, but was the genesis of Sophie and possibly Lexi. I thought that that was sufficiently implied by yourself in the comic.

@CuteDress&TwinPonytails: It was meant to be, the previous comment (by you) sort of seemed to imply it was Annie's fashion sense. I appear to have misinterpretted.

@claredin: Uh... you seem to be brighter than I am, because I don't see the WoO. Unless you mean the colour transition thing, in which it wasn't copying that old movie, I just did it for artistic reasons that apparently was done by someone more artistic than me and I apparently copied entirely subconciously!
