Also, that conversation reminds me of Final Fantasy 7 (the best final fantasy). I was still young, slightly younger than Annie, when it came out. I remember how much that game bothered me during that section. I didn't really know why. It just made me sad, and hurt.
The rest of the game is awesome, and honestly, fuck Aerith, Tifa is better in every way. She is strong, powerful, feminine, and an amazing role model. She, and AndrAia (from Reboot) were my aspiration when I was young. Look at how much ass she kicks in Dead Fantasy (go watch it) and in Advent Children.
What the hell did Cloud see in Aerith anyways?

You and I have *drastically* different opinions on FF7 (FF6, best Final Fantasy, then and always), so I have no idea what scene you're talking about anymore. Was there some kind of abandoned locker room scene or something?

@Fey Prevesk: Everyone says 3/6 is the best, except all the young people who like X for some reason. Meh, we can all agree that Chrono is all that matters.

Also, try playing ANY RPG where you get to rename the characters - rename them LAVOS. Every character. Hilarity.

Anyways, there was a mission early in FF7, where the main Character (Cloud) needed to get into a kings house or something. I can't remember the details. But the mission required you to try to be a convincing crossdresser by beating all these crossdressing weightlifters to get their wigs and makeup and stuff. I mean, it wasn't technically offensive in any way, nobody was claiming to be transgender or anything, it was basically a drag performance. Except that your goal was to be a convincing girl so you could get in.

I know, it is really tangential, but locker rooms tend to remind me of that scene. I had no idea why it bothered me so much at the time, because I didn't know (or wasn't admitting to myself) that I was trans. So yeah. That was a thing for me.

Also, word of warning: The iOS port of FF3/6 is broken, make sure you wait till the bugs are patched out before buying it.

Ah, okay, I remember that bit now, vaguely at least. (Yes, Chrono Trigger is awesome> Chrono Cross would've been better if they didn't try to pretend it had anything to do with Chrono Trigger when it didn't.)

I think I remember hearing that about the iOS port at some point, back when I had money. I honestly wouldn't have bothered to try and play something like that on my phone anyway.

I always got the feeling that Cloud's hung up on Aeris due to guilt over not being able to protect her, more than any attraction. At some point he'll get over it and hopefully end up with Tifa.

My personal favorites are (in no particular order) IV, VI, and VII. Oh, and I've come to love the XIII series too. :)
