@GreenKrog: As it's likely Annie's going to be spending a greater proportion of time in full colour in future, I'd say it's perfectly logical that given how many others in her social circles have messed up lives, that on occasions when she's on top form but others aren't, that the colour draining rules would also apply to them (or rather, Annie's perception of how they're feeling, since, after all, the 'narrator' is Annie herself).
