Lexi is being such a good sister. Or is she trying too hard to be inclusive? Does she honestly think someone is going to ask Annie to the dance?
Annie is so clearly trying to convince herself it doesn't matter.

I'm a tiny bit peeved in frame 5 "It's not fair for her"?! Or maybe my back-story memory isn't so good and I'm missing something, but Sophie wasn't fair to Annie.

@stickygirl: That opens a whole lot of questions. Tony really didn't know social things, and started apparently dating Sophie long before learning. They've been going out since nearly the beginning of the year, even during the time Annie was with Jamie. Ignoring everything except this last point, Annie has been, in her sexual confusion, been unfaithful to Sophie.

Is it really fair for Sophie to want her boyfriend (who she has tried time and again to have as her girlfriend) to come to the dance with her? If you spent a year of your life with someone, wouldn't you want to? And how is it fair that they have to go as boy/girl after all this, just because Sophie's mom is a bigot?

I apologize that I've done such a poor job of showing Annie and Sophie together as a couple. Usually I focus on the things that make Annie feel dysphoric - and Sophie isn't one of them.
