The brass ring is in reference to old carousels. As you went around, you had an opportunity to grab for a small brass ring (amongst a number of iron rings). If you caught it, it generally earned you a prize - more often than not a free ride! Of course, it is much harder to get than the less valuable iron rings. And now you know, the rest of the story.

Woah dizzy.

So, Andrea is being a bit.. how to say.. not exactly supportive. But isn't that something everyone needs? A voice of reason? Someone to keep you grounded? It's not like she doesn't change her tone when Annie is clearly dedicated to this, right?

I'm reminded of a certain song from a musical: "Besides which you see I have confidence in me!"

She may utter her equivalent of "Oh help!" at the school gates, but hopefully (particularly if Lexi and Mitch are by her side), she'll have the confidence to enter. How long her confidence will last though is another matter entirely (although at least she's realised her first appearance at school as herself is hardly likely to win her a standing ovation from fellow students)...

@mittfh: She has been less than solid in doing stuff for her own. But like you said, Mitch and Lexi are good for her.

I think, so long as she is seen for the first time, then it is something she can commit to. Like, when she went on stage for the first time to sing for Dethtapus, she was scared witless. As soon as she started singing though, no more fear.
So even if things go wrong, I would bet that once she commits to it, she is all in.
