This raises some serious questions, which I do not have the answer to. If you found your best friend, sitting there with the tools they used to try killing themselves the first time, what do you do? Do you tell someone? Do you hope you can help them? I don't have the answer to that. I would like to hear what everyone else thinks.

But I can tell you this. Having a nap to feel better, and having the same person who was there when you went to bed, being there when you wake up? That is huge. To me, the most honest act two people can have is to sleep with each other. Sex, you get to make a choice, you can stop and walk away (don't start, ok? Please?). If you sleep, you are turning yourself over entirely. There are no defenses, no pretenses, just sleep. And when you wake up, the person who you loves, and who loves you, is there for you. How much more could you ask in an exchange?
But maybe thats me overthinking it. I do that.

Platonic sleeping partners always seemed like a really nice thing. I just wish I had someone who trusted me enough.

I dont think there's any formula for helping a friend back away from the bring. Circumstances and the people involved define how it goes. It does seem like Andrea did it right, though.
