Way to be totally non-committal, Jamie. Wonder what is on his mind? Does HE know why Annie kissed him? Does he care? Why doesn't he seem to care? Or is he just smart enough to not get caught between a volcano and a tornado?

Not to be a total downer, but technically Annie didn't lose anything in this transaction. Valerie started out hating her. So this is kind of a return to zero. Doesn't mean it don't hurt like hell.

I strongly dislike people who act the way Valerie did just now. Yes, Annie did something wrong and Valerie is justified in being pissed off, but she is not justified in saying all those things. Is it too much to ask to have people stay on topic when angrily berating other people?

@Anon: 100% agree. Messing around with someone else's boyfriend is a definite no. However, that doesn't give Valerie the right to nearly out Annie to the entire stadium, tell Annie to kill herself, say that Annie deserves to get beaten up on the streets, etc. No way does Annie deserve all that. I'm kinda getting sick of Valerie's attitude.

@TallMist: Actually, I dislike her for a far less righteous reason. See, I'm pretty immature when it comes to handling conflict. When I have a disagreement with someone, I like to have the moral high ground, not because of the "moral" part, but simply because I like thinking of myself as better than my enemies. I'm petty like that.

Thing is, you only get the moral, logical or any other kind of high ground when you're making sense. That means you need to prove that the thing the other person did to piss you off was wrong. Valerie, instead, simply tries to make Annie suffer using information completely unrelated to the situation.

She's not proving herself right, or Annie wrong, or anything at all. She's just making herself look like a big jerk. That's what I can't stand. People who'd rather rely on ad hominem attacks than take part in intelligent debate don't deserve to be listened to.

'P' should have the last comment in Panel 6, and she should be saying, " NO ! Drinking like that is always way worse, believe me !!! "

@CuteDress&TwinPonytails: Inebriation and freeing ones-self from a specific mental state is not always worse. One of the ways a number of the trans people I know managed to get through their dysphoria is to use alcohol or marijuana. It might make it worse, but it could also allow Annie to be able to deal with things properly.

I, for example, cannot deal with emotional events. However, if I am drinking, I am able to deal with things because I lose inhibitions.

Is Annie doing this as a form of escapism? Or is she doing it to better be able to deal with and work through her issues?

Demonization of things is not the answer. It only brings shame to those who are already in a bad spot.
