I fully admit that the lyrics in frame 1 are pretty emo. They were meant to come out much more ragey, and I am sure they do if she is actually singing them, but that is pretty emo just on paper.

I said a long time ago that I would not allow Annie to fall into the same trap I did, and start cutting. And I stand by that. Why I am letting it happen to another character is why I usually let bad things happen to people in WF - so we can work through it. More and more people tell me that they cut. With how destroyed my arms are, I know how hard it can be to even deal with yourself, having done it.
This may be a spoiler, but I don't care. The type of cutting that Kora is doing is not going to be suicidal. Like many people who cut, it may be a bit of a 'tester' to see how much you can hurt yourself. See if you can take the pain. I know it started that way for me, I wanted so badly to die. Over time, it became apparent that I could not kill myself that way - I didn't have the strength to do it. So cutting became something much worse - the only way I could feel like I was a human.
I will hope to explain this situation better as the pages come along. In the meantime, if you feel I am not treating it properly, have questions, or you need someone to talk to about your or another person's cutting, I am available. Nobody should ever feel like they can't talk about it. I wasn't alone, but I couldn't see it at the time. You aren't alone.

I'm sorry, but Valerie needs to be shown the damn road. The manager shouldn't be doing her best to ruin her meal ticket. But then she does seem a bit stupid.

The guys in the band need to back Annie up on this. Hey, what's her Dad doing? He could be a manager!

@Ralph : I am sure there are a few things as to why they can't get rid of her.
A) Jamie and Valerie are banging. Or, it is very strongly implied, at least.
B) Jamie has said that Valerie is *really* good at her job. This may be one of those situations where they might hate her but respect her too much to have anyone else do it.
C) Valerie is showing herself to be irresponsible, but how do we know that she isn't vetting the people meeting Annie very thoroughly first? She frames it in a 'I don't give a fuck' way, but for all we know she is taking extended amounts of time to make sure that each person is safe for Annie to meet. We don't know if there are bouncers stationed directly outside or not. Heck, with Valerie being the electronics person, she might even have that room wired for sound so she can evesdrop all the time.

As much as we might want to hate Valerie (since I wrote her to be hated, after all), we also have to consider the options that maybe she isn't as stupid as to let the talent get knifed.

As for Annie's dad? I assume he works in some sort of oil field related thing. My dad worked in catalytic heaters (flameless burning of propane) but he never had to go on-site. Whereas Annie's dad has had to go on-site, during Christmas no less. So probably something oil related. I don't think he would make much of a stage manager/sound person. Though my dad does enjoy sound equipment.. no, no he couldn't do it, his hands are too shot and he can't really manage electronic mixers. Anyways!

So why not just hire someone else? The banging part helps. Mostly though, as much as Valerie might hate Annie, she would never physically assault Annie. What if some new guy does? Especially if they are all on the road together, Annie needs to be able to trust the people in the hotel room with her, right? Some new guy might be a total bigot and attack Annie physically. Valerie, to date, has not done so and seems improbable to do so.

(Sorry for the long replay, I have been pondering this since last night).
