Apparently, people with cool names are bisexual or lesbian. How about that!
Zora is right though - in most high schools, being gay is just like, so what? Which is all fine and good, but that doesn't make it any easier if you are in the 'other' category of the spectrum. It's one thing to be binary gay or les or straight, but.. trans?

To note: No, I do not think that sexuality shifts around like that, not exactly. Do you think if a person was bisexual, but they currently don't want a relationship, they are now asexual? Or they are just like, a dormant bisexual, or something? I think she just explained it how it makes sense to her.
And yes, I am well aware that asexual people often desire relationships, just not physical ones. After all, I'm asexual!

That moment when a fake high school in a place where non-passing trans-women are consistently physically assaulted by passing strangers is more accepting than your real life high school.

@Erin: To be fair, nobody in the school (except yellow girl) knows Annie is trans yet. Just that she is bi. So we have no idea how accepting they actually will be if they ever find out about Annie's trans status.

You are right though. In her previous school, Annie was more accepted than real schools. The terrible acts of physical violence that happen to Annie are just incidents that go away. The kind of hatred happening in the real world is the type of thing Annie hasn't had to deal with. Frankly, I would rather have physical violence than deal with this kind of thing;

"It's 2015, nobody cares" is verbatim what one of my friends told me when I came out as trans. I thought it was so funny that I have a shirt with that quote(minus the comma). So I love this!

@vinter<3: There is a severely insufficient lack of thumbs ups I can give your post. So have all of them. Just, take them.
