Did Annie make the right choice following Bree instead of Lexi? Time will tell..

@GreenKrog: Like I said before, at this point I think the right choice is to let Lexi sink until she starts swimming back up on her own. There's nothing Annie can do for her right now, so she might as well go with Bree.

Then again, if it were me, I would just go "Nope, too complicated. Shut down all social interactions." Maybe that's why I have no social life.

@Anon: I think the problem to consider here is that if Lexi hits bottom, what happens to Annie? If Lexi is left being a ball of hurt and anger, who has more to lose - Lexi or Annie?

I don't disagree with your socipathic and totally fucked up (but not at all wrong) interpretation that Lexi needs to hit bottom. Because that has happened to me before, where trying to off myself is what finally got me the help I needed. People gave up on me, and I don't think it was anything but on purpose. And then things got better.

The difference is, I didn't feel anger at anyone at the time. If I did, I probably would have gone full M.A.D and taken them down with me. Seems like Lexi is in that mindset right now.

@GreenKrog: Right now, Lexi's being the worst she can be without pushing her family away. No matter how much of a jerk she's being, her parents will always support her. But what do you think will happen if she starts hurting Annie? I have no idea, and I don't think she does either. I don't think she's willing to risk it.

@Anon: I'm not sure what would happen to Lexi if she started hurting Annie either. Annie COULD be sent back to her mother's house for a bit till Lexi calms down. Or for all we know, they would ship Lexi off to boarding school (they can probably afford that). I get the feeling the Bernts would be too stuck on 'we can make this work!' and everyone would go down together.

I am curious as to what would happen, actually. I don't really know. Never really considered it too deeply, and the characters tend to pull surprising reactions when they write themselves.

(Addition: any chance you could register a name so I know which anon you are? There are a bunch and I never know which I am talking to. Plus liking the page helps me feel useful so that would be nice for me).

@GreenKrog: I guess I could. To be honest, the only reason I've been going by Anon is my complete lack of imagination. I'm terrible at coming up with usernames. That said, I haven't seen any other anons in a while, and I've been commenting a lot lately, so it's possible it was me everytime.
