You know, P makes a pretty valid point. What does singing have anything at all to do with being trans? I was at karaoke this week and there were two trans people there, and they sang quite openly in the voices they had and nobody gave any fucks and cheered just as hard for them as they did for everyone else who sang.
I didn't sing. My voice is still too Rainbow Dash from my cold, so I can't do both sides of Kid Rock/Sheryl Crow - Picture. Once I get my voice back, yes, I will duet by myself. Because it is music - it isn't a trans thing.

The name of the comic? It is because when Annie hears her music she can't help but sing. It is just how she is built, when it is inside, she has to let it out. Especially after having to listen to Gary sing it, blegh!

as a person who kj's on occasion I dislike the song picture because inevitably it will be the drunkest ass looking to score and his woman who doesn't know the words slogging through it and murdering the song all over again...

this is not a statement about you as a singer or your song choice, just personal experience

P does make a good point(that still gets to me, I used to be friends with a dykey lesbian who went by P, real name April), but it's kinda known the Maiden is trans, so then they would know she was trans- if not already.

@GreenKrog: I'm not so sure P's point is so valid, for reasons that are actually addressed in the comic. Annie asks her friends not to wiki her, but they almost certainly will, and it's kinda known that the Maiden is trans.

Annie could have turned this situation to her advantage, though. In her situation, I would have let the Maiden thing stay secret, and used it to turn the conversation towards the subject of transgender people. That way, she could have gotten Wendy and Cindi's opinions on trans people without risking outing herself.
