Sometimes we identify ourselves by who we surround ourselves by. We see someone who no longer needs us, and we feel we are not needed. Instead of celebrating how much we helped them, we see ourselves as useless. That can be a very hard thing to face - suddenly not knowing who you are because of who someone else is now.

God I wish people didn't have to deal with me being bipolar. Who I am changes from day to day, and nobody, and apparently fewer and fewer drugs, can keep me as one thing.
