There was a lot of catharsis involved in this page. This is not to say it is over. But it helps.

I'm sure people have asked themselves, why did Annie even get self defense lessons if she wouldn't use them? There are a lot of reasons, but mostly - it is hard to defend yourself when you don't think you are worth defending, or don't think you can win. So you give up and just let it happen. Now though, Annie knows why she took those lessons. She remembers how it felt before. And how she will not allow it to happen again.

Now, she fights like a girl.

Panel 5 looks like she hit him so hard his left eye is way out of place.

Another reason people don't fight back is plain and simple fear. Your mind runs through the what ifs at a very frightening speed.

@Ralph: That, and also sometimes not fighting back really is your best move. When your opponent is someone you're not sure you can beat or outrun, it sucks, but you may be better off not trying. Pissing them off can result in further injury or death.

Of course, Annie is in peak physical condition and has self-defense lessons under her belt, so yeah, fighting back was the right call.

"Did I really do that?!"

Yes, you did, Annie - and it might be a good idea to disappear now, before he recovers...

When I saw the comment "Hit that bag"... well, here is what I would have done in her place: "I do NOT want you to do this... but since you INSIST... let's have a feel..."
GRAB!! T-W-I-S-T!! YANK **GOUGE** and I wouldn't stop until the guy lost consciousness... or was permanently parted from his "goodies"!!
