I like the reference to the 'Sword of Damocles' in the title of today's episode. Actually, the Sword of Damocles is hanging over quite a few of the characters in this story arc, not just Annie.

Did Dr. Bernt just look into Annie's eyes and nothing more, or maybe we are seeing the last thing that he did out of many examinations done to Annie at the school ?

One can tell the male nurse is a noob and newbie if he does not yet understand how to address and communicate with transgender people. You learn something new everyday !

@CuteDress&TwinPonytails: I couldn't say how in depth Dr Bernt got. Technically he declared her safe to go to school BEFORE she went, so nothing should have changed since then. Except of course, now she is pretty upset, but that shouldn't bar someone from staying in school.

We might heartily dislike the nurse right now because he is screwing up so much, but everyone starts bad at what they do. Given the rarity of trans people in Calgary, let alone of that age bracket, it seems improbable they spent a lot of time on this in med school.

Side note: As everyone should know by now, I am a second wave feminist and sort of despise the new wave. However, having to identify someone as a 'male nurse' or 'woman firefighter' indicates that the other gender is taking on an established gender role. From an egalitarian perspective, we should only be bringing the gender of the subject in to question if it is directly relevant to the description of the subject. I mean, like, if there is only one police officer in frame, and he is a black cop, you would usually just say cop instead of black cop, right?
Anyways, thats just a little rant of mine, feel free to ignore it.
